i know, can almost smell it! (w/e that means, haha)

i was sorry to see davies didn't make it onto the US 30 man. i was pulling for him after that wreck...

brazil is always so weird with their roster. it's like they intentionally leave off or bench their highest profile players. so strange. i feel like they did that with romario and ronaldo in recent memory. did roberto carlos retire? he was the man for sure!

i was looking at argentina's roster like 2 months ago and i didn't recognize ANYONE on there. i'll have to check their 30 man and see if anything has changed but i felt dumb not knowing a single player on such a powerhouse....

haha, that was a great game tho! we posted up at an english bar with about 300 people in it and it was about 50/50 brits and yanks. the bar holds about 75 people on a normal day, lol. they rented port a johns. it was insane. if you don't like soccer normally i think you would've enjoyed that environment.

cameroon playing in a few, wish i could watch eto'o....

Wow, the swiss beat Spain 1-0. First big upset of the tourney. Anyone else catch that Brazil vs N Korea game? NK looked a lot better than what I expected.

yea i def snuck in the ENTIRE brazil game yesterday. it's hard to explain but they look like they are running drills on whoever they play. like they do what they want regardless of who is in front of them. that being said NK did perform way better than i expected them to. it was cool that they scored. that guy will remember that goal for the rest of his life for sure.

germany is a machine, too. nevermind the 2 goals after the red card. before that they looked sick, too. they are always tough in int'l play.

forgot to add this....

Thank God I'm on vacation this week. I was shaking from the adrenaline and probably from the stress/frustration up to that point that I had to go and get a celebratory beer lol

Haha Nate, I'm with you, I made sure to take off for each of the US group games, and I am glad I did! That game was about to drive me crazy though, between the called back Dempsey goal and all those close chances, I was frustrated to all hell. Then Donovan slotted that put back, and all the frustration turned to joy!

Can't wait 'til Saturday to see what they can do with Ghana.

came out flat on saturday and paid the price. it was a great run tho, just got ourselves in a hole too many times to come back.

it is mentally exhausting to be down all the time, more so than any other sport i can think of. it's like taking away the field goal in football and saying you have to score TD's or taking away base hits in baseball and saying you have to hit HR's. not saying they didn't do it to themselves by being lax in the early stages of the game. gotta get some solid defenders next go round.

how bout the england screw job? glad that wasn't the US... jeeez. im not a proponent of replay but in the WC the one call you have to get right is a goal. kinda sucks.

Won't comment on the US, but England got fucked real bad. I support goal line replay, but nothing else. Never review offsides calls.

exactly. mlb has it right. review home runs only. nothing else. so, like you said, review goal line plays, nothing else. the end.

it's the most important part of the ENTIRE game. stupid to even consider letting human error get in the way. fix it FIFA! they are so frickin' hard headed tho, they probably won't do shit about it.

on a side note, you see donovan on the letterman show? it was pretty cool...

I've been missing World Cup soccer for the last two days. There are some great games the next few days though, should be entertaining. God I don't want it to end!

The Finals was alright, not the cleanest of games.

I heard the Germany on Saturday was much more fun to watch. I'm going to have to find time to watch that replay.

Agreed tho that some of the games were quite awesome to watch. Smile Now for another 4 years before we watch it closer to our timezone.
